Swimming Carnival

Now that the good warm weather is here - the school swimming carnival was held with 3 days to go in the school year...
The boys did really well (they have done spectacularly in so many things lately) and are both on the school swim team.

We will not talk about the swim suit malfunction or anything else I think....

Geek info: 2 flashes... 1 behind the boys facing the cream wall to blow it out.. the other in a stand off to the side and front a little...  tiny tiny but of playing in photoshop and out pop the results...

Out of control.....

My mo is out of control!!!

This might have had something to do with it....

I think the Mo makes me look gosh-darn sleazy.....

Photoshoot play....

The boys and I joined in with a Toowoomba Photographic Society photoshoot over the weekend... the boys in front of the camera and lots of people, including me behind it.

So playing in the old Toowoomba rail yard and then in an alley... this is some of what I got....

Details:  READ NO FURTHER UNLESS YOU ARE A CAMERA GEEK!  All of these were shot with a D7000 with an SB900 flash sitting somewhere.  The flash was generally set on manual output - most around half of the full output...
The camera was in manual.  Shutter speed at 250 (highest shutter sync speed), the aperture was determined by what effect i wanted the flash to have and how dark I wanted the background to be.....  flashes were triggered with cheap Yongnuo triggers...  I can throw in some things about how all this works if anyone is interested....

Mo-gress

I have started covering my face while I am sitting at traffic lights.
My top lip has its own pet slug....
You really have to be a certain type of person to appreciate this is truly a special kinda look.

BTW - lit using my Ipad as a light source, little bit from the other monitors...  I still have serious issues with MBOCS!

Movember

I am doing "Movember" this year.
Basically it is a month of growing a Moustache in order to raise awareness for men's health issues, particularly Prostate Cancer and Depression.

Very COLD

For my birthday I got a waterproof camera.... it is going to be all sorts of fun...

but because I could not wait to go to the beach with it, I got the boys to throw buckets of water over me.

I should have thought a little harder than this about the consequences about being soaked in cold water in the Highfields wind at 5 in the evening, but I am rarely accused of over thinking things!!

Nerf Gun

Photo last week...
the idea was that there were going to be nerf darts flying out of the gun.....

It was going to be so easy to do!
Yeah... it really wasn't.....

Anyway - I can pretend it was always meant to be some sort of portrait....

It will just be our little secret ok?
